Los Angeles Area Coworking Spaces

Coworking spaces are rented offices that are more formal than a cafe, and try to be more social than a regular shared rental office(and cheaper too). Here's a list of three: Blankspaces - Wilshire near La Brea. They have good explanatory videos.

WhereMMM - Silver Lake, on Griffith Park Bl.

Coworking Fullerton - near Harbor and Commonwealth, south of Chapman.

While these spaces try to pitch the whole "business" or "exec" angle, I suspect most people working there are freelancers who want to network, or who are having "cabin fever." If any dealmakers are going, it's to find labor (why would they want to blab about deals in public, if they're so good at it).Business services providers might go to find clients. So it might have some of the dynamic of a whorehouse.

Of course, at a whorehouse, everyone gets paid. It's all about work.

The videos on youtube make it look like these spaces are for software developers. They also look like they were furnished by Ikea. These videos make this thing sound really important... but look at how few views they've gotten. Makes me feel sad for some reason. I hope they're too busy working.
