Changing a Bicycle Tube or Tire: Avoid Thermal Expansion

Rubber shrinks when heated.

Metal expands when heated.

When you have to remove or install a tire on a bicycle, do it in the shade. You avoid hurting yourself with heat, and you also cause the materials to cool down, so the tire expands, and wheel contracts. That should make it easier to remove and re-install the tire.
